From The Chair person Bettina Holland of Carharrack Parish Council:

Due to Covid-19 restrictions and to keep all of our community safe the Parish Council is unable to mark Remembrance Sunday with a planned event. The poppy wreath has now been placed on the stone cross in the centre of the village as a symbol of our community's collective remembrance. We hope you find your own way to pay your respects and observe a two minute silence either on Remembrance Sunday and/or Armistice Day.

"They will not grow old as we that are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them"
This is taken from the poem by Laurence Binyon called "For the Fallen".
Laurence Binyon was inspired and wrote this poem on the cliffs at Polzeath in North Cornwall. It was first published in The Times on 21st September 1914.
